What types of plastics can be recycled?
Plastic is a versatile artificial material; synthesis for crude oil or natural gas is used. The value of the plastic in the world economy depends on its different from natural materials physicochemical properties: mechanical and elasticity, malleability, chemical resistance, water resistance, corrosion resistance, ductility, etc. These properties make an appropriate plastic engineering feedstock in the manufacture of various objects. Its management requires synthesis technology for recycling and disposal.
Commercial plastics for sorting and recycling are ranked number 1 to 7, indicated at the bottom of the object; This classification allows to identify, separate and maximize the number of times that plastics are recycled. It was designed by the Society of Plastics Industry.
In this context, efforts like those currently makes Coca-Cola to recover their empty bottles, are of great value for sustainable development. In our graphics we show the classification and examples of their use.
