How to Recycle Organic Waste

Garbage from vegetables and fruits commonly called organic waste we can process into compost, and here is how to do it. Make a compost or compost, is a very useful practice that saves us and help not pollute the environment and waste obtained from our home an input to naturally nourish plants making them healthier and beautiful garden.



Following is a series of steps to help you do it at home.

Step One:  Select organic waste.
Viable for compost waste: peels of fruits, vegetables, eggs; rice, beans, tortillas, coffee residues; branches, leaves, small green leaves, grass remains. Not recommended: meat scraps, bones, remains of glass, stones and / or metals. Waste should be used to reduce to small pieces, this benefits accelerate the decomposition process and reduces preparation time. The mixture should contain equal parts of dry material and fresh material to achieve the right conditions for microorganisms begin their function of decomposing organic matter conditions.

Step Two: Prepare the site.
 1. Garden: make a ditch.
 2. Prepare a container with a wide mouth lid. (Minimum diameter 50 cm.)
 3. You can use a plastic bead, special (tank type) to the compost.

Step Three: Place waste on the site.
First place a layer of soil at the site prepared for compost, then pour the waste dry and cool evenly. It is then completely covered with a second layer of soil. Finally I cover it with plastic preferably (Oxo-biodegradable) to keep the moisture and prevent them animals.
Try turning the material at least 1 time per week.

Step Four: Remove the compost.

The compost is ready when the out, no odor or watery consistency. A good compost is brown or black hue, is odorless and its texture is similar to Earth.
